Successful launch for NEC’s latest range of digital cinema projectors
NEC Display Solutions Series 2 projectors – now installed
Munich, 25 May 2009 – NEC Display Solutions extends its Series 2 range of digital cinema projectors with the model NC1200C. The new model range has already generated contracts for more than 1,000 units throughout Europe. The projectors are based on Texas Instruments' Series 2 technology and excel on account of their user-friendliness, low maintenance costs and reduced operating expenses.
With a brightness of 9,000 (NC1200C), 17,000 (NC2000C) and 31,000 (NC3200S) lumens respectively, the new models are suited for screen sizes up to 14, 20 and even 32-metres. NEC’s technical expertise enables the projectors to fully exploit the 2K resolution of the Texas Instruments state-of-the-art DLP chipset in triple flash 3D. Gerd Kaiser, Product Line Manager Large Venue Projectors at NEC Display Solutions, is thrilled by the successful launch: “Cinema operators”, says Kaiser, “have quickly recognised how Series 2 technology can significantly improve their competitiveness. Movie audiences will experience brilliant colours and breathtaking 3D special effects.” All of the models in NEC’s new projector series will meet the standards of the Digital Cinema Initiative (DCI), guaranteeing future-proof investment. NEC intends to offer 4K models and 4K upgrades for the current Series 2 projector family as soon as Texas Instruments will provide 4K technology.
