NEC Computers chooses APX as Service Centre
NEC Computers S.A.S., a subsidiary of NEC, has chosen the APX group as its service partner. This means that APX will offer call centre, support and logistics services to NEC Computers SAS clients in Europe, Middle East & Africa.

A new service provider to meet NEC's growth objectives in 2010
In response to an international strategy, NEC aims to pursue and intensify its IT Infrastructure activities in 2010.
"We were looking for a provider whose Services experience was centered on Infrastructure to meet the needs of our new group strategy", stated Tong Chhor, EMEA Executive Director at NEC, "APX will provide the NEC Servers and Storage System Service, as well as continuity of service for the installed NEC PC and portables base which represents a range of more than 1.5 million machines under warranty in Europe."
APX will offer Service and Support for the whole range sold by NEC in Europe, Middle East and Africa. APX's knowledge and experience in after sales service management will guarantee a high quality service, in line with NEC customer expectations.
APX will provide an Information Management service offering a multilingual helpdesk, maintenance work management, warehouse and logistics management, as well as relations with resellers. The alliance created in 2009 between APX, Getronics and 5 other global partners, ensures a local Service is offered in all countries covered.
"This European contract confirms the growth of the APX group in Information Management Services", stated Noël Saille, APX Group Chief Executive Director, "It strengthens the resources and expertise in our Service Centers while giving APX access to new NEC technologies for our client Infrastructure Integration projects."
To provide a high quality service to the users of NEC's products, APX has implemented significant resources for this business: a team of more than one hundred people, an information system managing the relationship with NEC's clients as well as a store of 6000m² to hold the 400,000 spare parts and a unique NEC dedicated call centre.
For Gaetano La Rosa, Executive Director for NEC Computers, "This new partnership with APX will enable NEC to strengthen its Server, Storage System and Fault Tolerant System range by offering service solutions which meet our customer expectations. In addition, APX's experience enables us to ensure continuity of service for clients using NEC PCs."
The transfer of services between the previous service provider and APX is taking place at the moment. APX will be operational on the whole range of NEC products and services in April 2010.
